Margaret Wardsworth Daughtry
Margaret Wardsworth Daughtry, 85, of Roanoke Rapids, died Thursday, November 1, 2018.
She was born in Edgecomb County, to the late Calvin Lee and Mary Elizabeth Denton Wardsworth. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Romie "Ike" Daughtry; two sisters, Virginia Flythe and Ida Mae Wardswoth; and five brothers, Calvin Lee, Percy Lee, Hassell, Raymond and Bruce Wardsworth.
Margaret loved the Lord, and was baptized at Rocky Swamp Primitive Baptist Church. She also attended First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Roanoke Rapids. She was the founder and operator of Hyde and Go Seek, child day care in Nashville for several years. She was a homemaker most of her life. She loved children and was a giving person. She loved dancing and especially her "Hats".
She is survived by her four daughters, Betty Ann Mohorn and her husband, Bentley, of Halifax, Michelle Dickens of Wilmington, Carolyn Wood of Fayetteville, GA, and Lisa Bullard and her husband, Billy, of Stanfield; two sons, Nick Dickens and his wife, Margaret, of Littleton, and Jeff Dickens and his wife, Sylvia, of Littleton; her sister, Fannie Brown of Scotland Neck; her brother, Perry Wardswoth and his wife, Janie, of Leggett; twelve granddaughters and twelve great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 4, 2018, at the First Pentecostal Holiness Church at 3:00 P.M. with Rev. Matthew Smith officiating.
Interment will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the First Pentecostal Holiness Church, 145 Old Farm Road, Roanoke Rapids.
